Final Evaluation: Audience Feedback task

Evaluation 5: How did you attract/address your audience?

Evaluation 7:7 Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Evaluation 6: 6 What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Evaluation 4: 4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

The perfect audience for our media product would be kind of similar to our original audience member the townie

But as we have evolved so we have a slightly wider range of people who might be attracted to come and watch this

Compared to our original post about the perfect audience member it hasn’t really changed it has just encompassed

Evaluation 3: What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Monday, 11 March 2013

Evaluation 2: 2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Above on the left is the main character from our film immanence.
He is wearing very neutral coloured clothing and is using his hands to accomplish a goal. He looks very much focused but also looks like he is thinking about something else.
On the bottom  left we have the main character from chronicle he is wearing very neutral coloured clothing and is using his hands to accomplish a goal he looks very much focused but also looks like he is thinking about something else.
The stereotypically that the loner becomes the superhero in this and that is true because troy stone becomes this powerful being and that doesn’t usually happen to people in an alright social position or at least the person in the better social position doesn’t become the most powerful.
The plain clothes represent the realism combined with the supernaturalism in this piece because the costume symbolises that they are dressing up as someone else but in actual fact they are themselves and they have to accept that and not let it change who they are but inevitably there will be a permanent change whether or not there is.

Evaluation: 1 1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

THE TITLE
The titles of both these intros are similar to the colour scheme of the intro.

THE SETTING

The setting of both these in separate parts of these contrast of the different settings in both of these help make other things stand out.
THE COSTUMES

The Costumes in this are very normal to the jobs that they are doing for instance in the cabin in the woods there is a guy in a shirt and tie obvoisly at work getting a cup of coffee. and in our intro their is a guy looking after his wood and he is wearing work clothes.

CAMERA WORK AND EDITING

The camera work in both these are kindof similar but they don't really feature the same kind of enviroment. But I feel like the editing in this is similar with the special effects but it does create a different tone all together that contrast the two parts of both these intros.

FONT AND STYLE

The font and style of these go together depending of what part of the intro it is on the cabin in the woods but it does go together. for our intro the text has to stand out a fair amount for it to be readable in the dark and dingyness of the intro but i still feel that isn't distracting from the what is going on.

THE STORY AND NARRATIVE

The story of both these things i feel can come accross in the intro if you are actually paying attention, for instance if you paid close attention to the immanence intro you would see that there is an protagonist in this and i think it is the same for the cabin in the woods.

GENRE

The genre of this isnt very clear though but it is in fact a character development film about special abilities and lonelieness

CHARACTERS

The characters in our intro are "Troy stone" and "Garth"
you don't see much or either of them in the intro but they are hints of them in it and what they are doing.

SPECIAL EFFECTS

There are a small amount of special effects in the final edit of the intro, there was more in one of the orginal to show troy stone flying but we decided to cut it in the end because it introduces something that shouldent be there yet.

The Editing Process

Editing takes a lot of time.  This is something that has come to be apparent. Most prep I would go to Bhupeshwor’s room and edit with him. He had managed to secure two editing packages adobe premiere pro and after effects for certain things. We had to cut a few bits from the intro that originally where going to be in for example a flying scene and a huge conversation between the two main characters.
In the editing we mainly used premiere to do all the general stuff we just used after effects when it came to things like epic swoosh three-second-long intros and stuff.
A lot of colour correction was used for continuality because it was shot with three different cameras with different frame rates resolutions and aspect ratios so there was a lot of just general tweaking to be done with this.

The sound track was a big part of this we have experimented with about 6 different songs in this whole process due to copyright intros
There was a slight issue with the placement of the title of the film in the original intro in the rough cut as having it at the end of the intro made it look like a trailer

Intro analysis for memento
The clip starts off with a person looking at a developed photograph as soon as you start watching it and the clip goes in reverse as the photograph gets less developed the intro symbolises his loss of memory in the rest of the movie, in memento the whole narrative is in reveres and this is shown in the intro really well as you watch the intro you find out what has just happened and you feel abit like the guy. The sound in the clip is diagetic meening that it goes with the clip and it suits the genral feeling there is also a heartbeat going through the clip that isn’t slowed down and reversed showing that he lives even thow that the things going on in his live is in the worng order and don’t make sense
our movie genre is townies or mainstream kids as described by the media. the picture below is of a townie
